I've been to Target and going in the book sections where coloring books are I bought a set of flashcards like this one.
So how that can help you to make it your own?
Well since their pictures are so good, I'm thinking to scan than and make my own.
Soon I will show how to do that with a tutorial.
So think how books or phonetics tools in the country that you are be a valuable help in the language you want to teach your child.

Ideas to play with your child
I found this blog Fun with Mama where she has a lot of ideas to play with your child with cheap and home made things.
All can be part of your language, more interaction more our children learns our language.

Article
This article talks about very interesting research about how easy is for children to learn two or more language, that we all already know, but also interesting to see that
learning 2 languages does not affect the first time they begin to speak research shows that they actually start at the same time both languages and the delay is not because of that.
Also, that is very important to work on bilingual skills till they are 7 years old, after that gets more difficult.
Check it out !

when tired nights will end?
This is what I ask myself today, when my baby will sleep more than 5 hours?
He has been really in a good schedule of going to bed at 8 and I wake him up at 11 than he sleeps till 3/4 AM but than he wakes up to feed every 2 hours again, it's just so exhausting, and feeling some lower back pain which talking to some fellow mothers they say it's normal, I'm getting sick and tired of people say everything I feel it's normal.

Living Each day with your child to the fullest
I was reading this article today, and it was so true of things I'm feeling right now.
It's so true that we want our child to go stages faster, sometimes because gets easier for us, sometimes because we want participate more with them. I get me wanting Lucas to grow more so we both can sleep more, go around I want him to explore and see all the beautiful things around him. But, at the same time I see him growing so fast, looking at his pictures of a month ago, I already miss that tiny little thing. And when I'm feeding him , I just think all the time: " take your time because soon he won't fit here" . I guess this is mother's world always missing stages and happy with new ones.
Also, a very interesting topic 10 ideas to get started on Family traditions, take a look.
Thank you

The 8 week mark
We crossed the 8 weeks mark and I already can see a lot of changes in Lucas, as a first time mom I get surprised how that fragile just newborn body goes so fast, I feel already my baby is not tiny anymore.
I begin to realize that mom' s life are full of contradictions, one side of me can't wait for him to sleep more at night, be more alert , more interactive, but the other side of me just want to hug this little baby body as much as I can because he is growing and growing.
Now that he stays some more minutes awake between feeds during the day, I begin to talk back to him, I have to confess when he was too tiny I didn't speak to him so much, maybe because he seemed in his own world and not a lot of interaction was going on.
Now I slowly begin to talk more with him, I begin to always say his name and Today I even put a music cd in Portuguese.
So, I think my journey of second language learning is starting slowly, with baby steps ;)
